Monthly Archives: September 2010

Thrice bitten

It’s been a busy month or so, what with the end of the holidays and The Bean starting school this September, this month has run well ahead of me.

Autumn is turning over, a mix of misty, drizzly mornings or clear skies.  Still there is plenty to see when out and about as the land prepares for winter.

The stuff of Faery Tale

There’s been plenty of time for Poetry though, two wonderful events recently in Worcester, The Phonic Room and The Word and Sound, then last night I went to Poetry Bites at the Kitchen Garden Cafe in Kings Heath, Birmingham, where Sarah James, Fatima Al-Matar and Adele Falconer were the three stunning headline acts.

A couple of days grace, then it’s the run up to National Poetry Day, (This year’s theme is “Home”) and I’m involved with a combined National Poetry Day and World Mental Health Day on the Friday at a local university, where there will be a series of student focussed events on the theme of “Home” and awareness that many students will be away from home for the first time.

What ever you’re doing, have a great day.
