Holidays and Poetry

Standard

It’s been busy few weeks due to holidays and spending time with the family.  We took the Bean and the Bear to the seaside for a few days, we had good weather, plenty of ice cream, and donkey rides for the Bean and the Bear.

There’s been time for poetry too.  Last night was our Charity Poetry Reading and Open Mic at the Farrier’s Arms, Worcester, hosted by Sarah James and myself.  It was a fantastic evening and we had many wonderful poets who read, and many people who came to listen.  We managed to raise the sum of £133.62 for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign.  Thank you to everyone who took part and to everyone who couldn’t attend but gave us their support.  A huge thanks also to the Farrier’s Arms who made us all so welcome.

But there is more: The Phonic Room is tomorrow night as part of the Worcester Music Festival, venue is Boston Tea Party, Broad Street, Worcester, it starts from 7pm and entry is excellent value at £1.00.  The Phonic Room is a wonderful spoken word event and a great opportunity to listen to many of Worcestershire’s talented people.  If you’ve never been, try it, wonderful words, and The Boston Tea Party do wonderful tea and cake – what’s not to like?
